About the Opportunity
We are now seeking a full-time Senior Marshalling Duty Supervisor to join our operational management team in our log marshalling operation at Portland, Victoria.
Because our industry services the shipping and export industry, we operate on a 24/7 basis and the Duty Supervisor will be rostered to work weekends.
In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of operators engaged in the handling of export logs arriving daily at the port.
On a day to day basis, you will oversee the following:
- Team safety;
- Personnel;
- Plant;
- Performance; and
- Data.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have managerial or supervisory experience, however this is not essential for your success as long as you have a strong operations background and natural leadership ability. Although not essential, a background in forestry would be highly regarded.
It's essential you be comfortable working in a multi-operational workplace in a 24/7 environment. You'll have excellent organisational skills and be competent in the use of computer programs.
As you'll be dealing with team members and clients alike, strong customer relationship skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders will be key.
Importantly, this is a hands on leadership role and as such, we're on the lookout for someone who leads by example and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty!
