About You
You will be a natural leader with previous man management experience occurring at the coal face in a fast paced productive environment. This is a hands-on working management role. The successful candidate will not be afraid to get their hands dirty and are willing to lead from the front.
About The Role
Reporting to the Port Manager, this role has a strong emphasis on the day to day supervision of the loading and unloading of cargo on vessels arriving at the port and the management of staff and equipment. It is an extremely challenging role with responsibility for a large group of skilled personnel who are engaged to load vessels. Ensuring the safety of the team is priority and is done through appropriate communication of standards and procedures, pre-shift safety briefings and on the job guidance. Advanced computer skills are required as you will be managing cargo flow through the effective use of our unique cargo management systems, includes data input, bar-code scanning and troubleshooting IT hardware issues. We operate a 24/7 operation therefore the successful candidate must be able to support this.
